Battle Ropes: Fast & Safe For Functional Fitness, Fat Loss & Sports

These are just a few of the comments people say when using the battle ropes for the first time:

“Wow I can’t believe how quickly my heart rate went up while using the battle ropes”.
“I can really feel the core being used when doing the battle rope slams!”
“This is challenging and fun at the same time!”

What are the Battle Ropes?

Battling Rope®, Power Ropes, Slam-N-Ropes® & training ropes are a few of the other brand names that the ropes go by. What matters most is getting the correct size rope for yourself or your clients.

The ropes come in two main sizes 1.5” & 2”. They can be made out of poly or manila fiber and come in varying lengths and are used for a variety of dynamic undulation & swinging type movements.

The most popular size used is the 1.5” poly rope that is 30, 40 or 50 ft in length. The rope is securely anchored in the middle while you hold the rope ends and perform natural waving, swinging, slamming & undulation movements.  The ropes help to create a dynamic, high intensity form of exercise that trains and conditions your cardiovascular system, works the entire arms, grip strength, and core while also working the legs, gluts and hips too.

So what makes battle rope training so different & effective?

When people ask me what heavy rope training is like I say, imagine a 50 yard dash while holding a 10 lb dumbbell in each hand.

How are Battle Ropes different from other training methods?

Rope training is unlike any other training method and it falls into its own unique category. Other exercises such as kettlebells, barbells & dumbbells involve gravity as the weight returns back the ground. This creates momentum which reduces the amount of work and force required. Rope wave & slamming motions, will require you to produce more velocity & put out more effort to keep the rope moving. There’s no lockout or resting position during rope exercises so the muscles and heart must keep working the whole time.
